My earliest understanding of business came from helping my mother sell vegetables in a market. I watched her work to maintain an income, respond to customers and provide for our family. At times, financial pressures interrupted my schooling, including occasions when I helped with the business instead of attending class. Those experiences made me aware of the difficult choices small-business owners face and helped shape my ambition to study business administration.
At school, I developed this interest through business studies and participation in business clubs. I enjoyed learning about resource management and working with others towards shared tasks. Despite interruptions caused by financial difficulties, I achieved a distinction and received a scholarship for university study. That support changed what was possible for me and remains an important reason I value educational opportunity.
My undergraduate studies in Business Administration helped me move beyond the experience of a family business towards a broader understanding of organisations and markets. Financial management, taxation and policy formulation introduced me to the decisions that influence how businesses operate. International economics encouraged me to consider how differences between markets affect commercial opportunities, while e-commerce and financial accounting strengthened my interest in the relationship between business information and decision-making.
I now want to pursue an MBA to develop a more integrated understanding of management. My goal is to become a business manager capable of connecting financial judgement, marketing and organisational priorities. I am particularly interested in how businesses respond to changing customer needs and the growing role of digital commerce. Further study would help me examine these challenges with greater depth and develop the confidence to make well-supported decisions.
A scholarship would make a substantial difference to my ability to undertake this next stage. I am currently unemployed, and meeting tuition costs presents a significant obstacle. Funding would reduce that pressure and allow me to devote more attention to the programme. My previous scholarship demonstrated the effect that financial support can have when it is matched by effort and commitment; I would approach another opportunity with the same sense of responsibility.
My ambitions also extend beyond my own career. Having experienced how financial barriers can interrupt education, I hope eventually to support students facing similar difficulties. I want to build the professional capacity to contribute meaningfully.
An MBA would help me develop the management knowledge needed to progress towards these goals. I would bring experience of a small-business environment, a foundation in business administration and a strong appreciation of the opportunity a scholarship provides. I am ready to build on that foundation through focused postgraduate study.
